Neptune

Apple iBook G3 SE "PowerBook2,2", 2000

On this 57th day of the year 2026

I have started work on reconstructing the battery for Neptune and Artemis. So far I have just opened the packs in a very brutish and messy manner, but failed to realize I do not yet own the proper equiptment; namely a spot welder. I think I'll order the 18650 cells for both and a spot welder with this year's tax return.

On this 34th day of the year 2026

I am currently building this website on this machine! I only recently got this during the last week of January this year at time of posting, but so far I like it. The convenience of the shape of the "clamshell" makes it feel like it has built-in wrist support, and while the keyboard ain't no IBM, it does feel very sturdy and responsive, unlike the flat and fragile chiclet keyboards of the 21st century. The trackpad is a bit small, but can get around the screen just fine, although not having a right-click physically present is a bit jarring. CTRL+LClick as a RClick is something I just need to get used to on this machine I guess...

My plans for Neptune are as follows:
